Wakefield Trinity have made their second signing of the week after Mitch Allgood signed a one-year contract.
The 27-year-old Australian prop forward was a former Rookie of the Year at Parramatta Eels, before making the move from the NRL to join Betfred Super League side Hull KR, who he left following their relegation at the end of the 2016 season.
He has made 36 appearances and scored six tries in two Super League seasons, and will be reunited with his former Hull KR coach Chris Chester at Wakefield.
Allgood said: "I was very happy to sign here at Wakefield and be playing under Chris Chester again.
"I've got a really good relationship with Chezzy, he's a coach that you want to play for. I am really looking forward to 2017 and what we can do as a club."
Chester added: "I am really looking forward to working with Mitch. I brought him in at Hull KR, so I know exactly what to expect from him and he knows what to expect from me.
"Mitch is a tough, no nonsense prop forward and a great leader both on and off the field. I am delighted to have secured his services for the next 12 months."
The signing of Allgood comes in the wake of Trinity's capture of former Castleford prop Craig Huby on a three-year contract from Huddersfield.
