Challenge Cup draw: Castleford to play St Helens, Barrow take on Leeds
Tuesday 25 April 2017 20:16, UK
Super League leaders Castleford will host St Helens in the sixth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.
Saints have won the cup five times since the turn of the century, but Castleford are without a win since 1986.
Hull will launch their defence of the trophy against Catalans Dragons in one of three all-Super League ties.
The Black and Whites ended their wait for a first Wembley triumph with a 12-10 win over Warrington in the 2016 final.
And Warrington will start their bid to go one better with a derby fixture against Widnes at the Halliwell-Jones Stadium.
Championship side Swinton's reward for their 26-24 victory over Super League club Huddersfield is a lucrative tie with reigning champions Wigan, who hold the record for most Challenge Cup wins with 19.
Wigan captain Sean O'Loughlin was a try-scorer when the teams last met in the competition, Swinton going down 70-12 in the 2003 quarter-finals.
Leeds Rhinos, winners in 2014 and 2015, beat Doncaster in the last round and will again face League 1 opponents in the shape of Barrow, the lowest-ranked team in the last 16.
Elsewhere in the draw - made by former Cup winners Keith Senior and Chris Joynt - there is a repeat of the 2016 Million Pound Game, only Salford will this time have home advantage against Hull KR, while Wakefield face a trip to Championship club Dewsbury, with whom they could be ground sharing in 2018.
One Championship club is guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals, Featherstone having been drawn to play Halifax.
Draw for the sixth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup:
Leeds v Barrow
Salford v Hull KR
Castleford v St Helens
Featherstone v Halifax
Hull v Catalans Dragons
Dewsbury v Wakefield
Swinton v Wigan
Warrington v Widnes
Ties to be played on the weekend of May 13-14.
