Catalans Dragons have re-signed France prop Antoni Maria from Leigh Centurions on a two-year deal.
The 30-year-old left Catalans last year and made 15 appearances for the Centurions, the last of which came in last month's Million Pound Game as the French club relegated Leigh.
Maria does not expect to be involved in another relegation battle next season under Steve McNamara, who guided the Dragons to safety following his appointment in June.
"I'm really happy to come back to the Dragons," said the prop.
"I had a long chat with Steve McNamara before making my decision and I really liked his speech. I feel he is taking the club in the right direction and I really want to be a part of it from next season."
McNamara added: "I personally feel it's very important for us that we nurture, retain and recruit our French players.
"Our club has always been at its strongest when it's had a strong core group of homegrown players and the signing of Antoni helps us move in that direction."
