Toronto have agreed to release former England forward Joe Westerman from his contract to "explore other opportunities".

The 28-year-old joined the Wolfpack from Warrington in the off-season and helped them make a promising start to life in the Championship but Westerman is set for a return to Super League after just four appearances in the second tier.

"The Wolfpack can confirm that Joe Westerman has left the club," Toronto tweeted.

"The former England international signed in the off season but will cut short his stay with the club to explore other opportunities.

"We would like to thank Joe for his contribution and wish him well for the future."

Full-back Quentin Laulu-Togaga'e has also left the club after they decided to release him.

"It was a difficult decision because I've always had a great relationship with Q," said Toronto head coach Paul Rowley told the club's official website.
