United States forward Eddy Pettybourne has secured a return to the National Rugby League with Gold Coast Titans.
The 26-year-old former South Sydney and Wests Tigers prop made 16 appearances for Wigan in 2014 including their Grand Final defeat by St Helens before being released for personal reasons.
He has been handed a 12-month deal by the Titans as a replacement for Paul Carter, who was dismissed by the club last month.
Head coach Neil Henry said: "He's a hard-running back or front-rower who's had a lot of experience at the top level and I know Wigan were very happy with his form last season.
"He has returned to Australia because of family seasons and we were quick to act after learning that. He'll be a valuable addition and we are very lucky to have a player of his stature to replace Paul."
New Zealand-born Pettybourne was in the United States team that reached the quarter-finals of the 2013 World Cup.
