Wigan second-row forward Rhodri Lloyd has joined Whitehaven on a one-month loan deal.

Lloyd, 21, has spent the past month at Swinton Lions and has impressed for the Championship One club with three tries in four matches.

The Wales international made five appearances for the Warriors before a loan move to Widnes in 2014.

However, his spell with the Vikings was cut short when he suffered a season-ending knee injury early on in the campaign.

A Wigan statement read: “With Whitehaven in the Kingstone Press Championship, the move helps Lloyd continue his career development."

Whitehaven currently sit 11th in the Championship having won just one of their opening five games.
