Salford are ready to issue life bans to those fans who caused trouble during their Super League fixture against Huddersfield at the AJ Bell Stadium on Friday.
The Red Devils are reviewing video footage of crowd incidents that include two plastic beer cups being thrown onto the playing surface, following an on-pitch brawl that resulted in the sin binning of Huddersfield full-back Scott Grix and Salford second-rower Weller Hauraki.
A club statement reads: "Salford Red Devils will not tolerate such behaviour and the people responsible for these incidents will be banned for life.
"We are already working with stadium representatives and the police to identify the culprits."
Wakefield were fined earlier this season after fans threw smoke canisters on to the field at Castleford and the Rugby Football League is currently investigating a similar incident in the Cheshire derby between Widnes and Warrington over Easter.
