This year is the 40th Steve Prescott Man of Steel awards, and will be hosted in Manchester on 3 October. There have been plenty of individual performances that have caught the eye this season, but ultimately there are three players up for the title.
Denny Solomona's heroics for the Tigers puts him in contention this year, breaking Lesley Vainikolo's 12-year record for the most tries in a season when he crossed twice against the Dragons in France on 17 September.
The Hull pair who feature are Gareth Ellis and Danny Houghton, with the latter's last-gasp tackle on Ben Currie ensuring his place in Challenge Cup folklore for years to come.
At 35 years old Ellis is proving that he still has the ability to make an impact in Super League, but will he claim Man of Steel?
