St Helens have announced the signing of Theo Fages from Salford Red Devils on a four-year contract.

The club has agreed a transfer payment in line with the Rugby League compensation rules set out for homegrown players. He will join Saints at the end of the season.

Fages, 21, regarded as one of the most promising young players in Super League, is predominately a scrum-half but can also play at hooker and stand-off.

Saints head coach Keiron Cunningham said: "Theo is a super player and I am really pleased to add him to our squad for 2016. He's talented, can play in a number of positions but is also young and keen to learn.
