Wakefield have re-signed academy product Ben Shulver after a short spell in Australia.

Shulver made his debut for the Wildcats in their 66-6 Challenge Cup win over Hemel Stags in 2013 and has signed a two-year deal.

"Wakefield Wildcats is like home for me," Shulver said. "I have been here since I was 15 going through the scholarship and academy and when I got the opportunity to come back, I jumped at the chance.

"I only left last year but there seems to be a lot of new faces around the club so I am looking forward to working with them and with Brian as well.

"I did enjoy my time in Australia but it was very different to what I expected. Having to work as well as playing made me realise how much I enjoyed the game and I wanted to push myself harder."
