Ashley Gibson has joined the Wakefield Wildcats from Super League side Castleford Tigers in a two-year deal.
The 29-year-old has a wealth of Super League experience after playing for Salford Red Devils in 2010-13 and Leeds Rhinos.
He started his professional playing career for Leeds when he broke into the side in 2005, scoring a hat-trick on his debut against Leigh.
Gibson, who scored 11 tries in 28 appearances since 2014 for Castleford, will link up with team-mate Liam Finn who also joined the Wildcats this week. He is Wakefield's fifth recruit for 2016.
The versatile star performs primarily as a centre but can also play on the wing.
Gibson said: "I'm really excited to be joining the club, it is a new era here at Wakefield with Head Coach Brian Smith, he has a wealth of experience and I am looking forward to working alongside him.
"I cannot wait to get started in pre season; Michael has brought in some fantastic players so far to add to the great bunch of lads that are already here."
