Hull coach Lee Radford has confirmed Leon Pryce will miss the rest of the Super League season.

Radford was hopeful Pryce's shoulder injury would not need surgery, allowing him to play some part in the Super 8s.

But the stand-off has now been told he does need an operation, leaving him on the sidelines along with injured captain Gareth Ellis.

Speaking after Thursday's defeat at Wigan, Radford said: "He's gone for the year. He'll have an operation next
Tuesday."

Earlier in the week he said: "They're massive losses for us. They're obviously influential on the group so we've just got to make sure they're around the place and they're upbeat.

"And we've got to make the boys who come in and play in their roles do a job for us."
