Jamie Jones-Buchanan says Leeds Rhinos are excited about playing two Super League games at Elland Road in 2018

Leeds star Jamie Jones-Buchanan says playing Warrington in the first game of the 2018 season will be a "real test".

The Super League fixtures were released on Wednesday morning and the first game will feature Grand Final winners Leeds visiting Warrington on February 1, live on Sky Sports.

Warrington finished ninth in the 2017 standings but Jones-Buchanan thinks that will prove to be just a blip.

He told Sky Sports News: "Last year (2016) we spent all our time, at the back end of the year, in the middle 8s, fighting relegation, and we bounced back within a year.

"Warrington had a similar experience this year and I expect them to be fantastic.

"I think they were one of a few teams who we will see a lot better than 2017 - St Helen's, Wigan and certainly Warrington.

"To go there first game of the season is going to be a real test and I think it will be a real measure for us.

"Historically we have had some great games against them, they have got a new backroom staff and a lot of players who want to get back to the top of the Super League, where they probably belong as a club."

Steve Price has taken over as coach at Warrington and Jones-Buchanan thinks it may have a positive impact.

"It will give them a new narrative, a new set of intentions," he said.

"I know their new team manager and he has told me a lot of positive things.

"Tony Smith was a fantastic coach and did a lot of great things, but they will be excited about what they can do in 2018."
