Wigan Warriors forward Liam Farrell given one-game suspension
Tuesday 6 June 2017 13:03, UK
Wigan second-rower Liam Farrell will miss Thursday's trip to Leigh due to a one-match suspension, the Warriors have announced.
The England international submitted an early guilty plea after being charged with a Grade B offence for foul and abusive language to a match official by the Rugby Football League's match review panel.
Farrell, who was making his 200th appearance for Wigan, was sin-binned for dissent in the aftermath of a try in Saturday's 39-26 defeat at Hull FC.
The loss of Farrell represents a blow to the Super League champions, who are struggling in sixth place after a run of six games without a win.
Wigan will also be without Sean O'Loughlin (hamstring) and Sam Powell (concussion) for Thursday's trip to Leigh, live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 7pm.
However, Oliver Gildart is set to make his return to action after 10 weeks out with a back injury after being named in Shaun Wane's 19-man squad.
Wigan Warriors: Joe Burgess, Tom Davies, Gabe Fell, Callum Field, Liam Forsyth, Josh Ganson, Oliver Gildart, Willie Isa, Thomas Leuluai, Liam Marshall, Michael Mcilorum, Romain Navarrete, Frank-Paul Nuuausala, Ryan Sutton, Taulima Tautai, Lewis Tierney, Joel Tomkins, Jack Wells, George Williams.
