Hull KR have recalled full-back Greg Eden from his loan spell with Salford Red Devils following a serious knee injury to Ben Cockayne.

Cockayne has made a successful switch to full-back from the wing, but is likely to miss the majority of the season after picking up the injury in Sunday's 54-12 defeat at Castleford.

"Scans have shown the injury is worse than first feared and the former England Knights international is now expected to be ruled out for 10 weeks," said a Hull KR spokesman.

"As a result, the Robins have recalled Greg Eden from his loan spell at Salford Red Devils and he will come into contention for the clash with Warrington Wolves at the KC Lightstream Stadium next Friday."

Eden has made five appearances for the Red Devils and joined the Lancashire outfit on an initial one-month loan spell.

Salford extended his stay at the AJ Bell stadium but Rovers retained the right to recall him at any time.

Hull KR's heavy loss to at Castleford proved particularly costly, with prop Michael Weyman sent off and subsequently banned for two matches for abusing the referee.

Second rowers Kevin Larroyer and Jordan Cox both sustaining fractured ankles in the game and now face a spell on the sidelines.
