Featherstone have appointed former Warrington and Leigh stand-off John Duffy as their new head coach.
Duffy, 37, an assistant coach of Scotland, has signed an initial 12-month contract and takes up the role immediately following the departure of Jon Sharp.
Duffy, who played for Leigh, Widnes, Salford, Whitehaven, Warrington and Chorley in a 16-year playing career, made the move over the Pennines after quitting as coach of fellow Championship club Swinton, who have appointed his assistant Stuart Littler as their new boss.
"I am thrilled to be joining Featherstone," said Duffy. "This is a huge opportunity for me and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.
"Featherstone is a massive club, with a proud history, and it is a privilege to be given the chance to join the long list of great coaches who have worked at the Rovers."
Duffy will be in charge for the first time when Rovers go to Toulouse on Saturday, their last fixture before the Super 8s Qualifiers in which they will be competing for a place in Super League for 2018.
Featherstone chairman Mark Campbell said: "We are thrilled to have been able to secure John's services.
"We believe he has done a remarkable job in extremely difficult circumstances at Swinton, and he deserves a great deal of credit for his efforts there."
