Widnes winger Patrick Ah Van has been handed a five-game suspension for a dangerous throw on Wakefield centre Ashley Gibson.
Ah Van appeared in front of a Rugby Football League disciplinary panel in Leeds, where he pleaded guilty to the Grade E offence.
The incident occurred during the early stages of a stormy encounter last Friday, which finished 18-16 to visiting Wakefield.
Ah Van was sent to the sin-bin for the tackle on Gibson, who suffered a dislocated shoulder.
Widnes will also be without winger Stefan Marsh for two matches, after he was handed a ban for tripping, but hooker Aaron Heremaia avoided any punishment after submitting an early-guilty plea to a minor charge of punching.
Wakefield hooker Scott Moore was found guilty of a grade B high tackle on Ah Van and has been banned for two matches, but was told no further action would be taken on two minor charges of punching and contrary conduct.
Wigan forward Tony Clubb will lose his ever-present record this season after accepting a one-match ban for striking with his shoulder during the Super League defeat at Warrington last Thursday.
Clubb opted to submit an early-guilty plea and will miss his club's Ladbrokes Challenge Cup sixth-round tie at Dewsbury on Sunday.
Former Wigan hooker Logan Tomkins will sit out Salford's cup tie at Castleford on Saturday after admitting making dangerous contact on Hull KR scrum-half Albert Kelly during the Red Devils' league win over Rovers.
The tribunal downgraded the initial charge from grade C to B and imposed a one-match ban.
