Phil Clarke brings you his top five Super League Super 8s tries of the week

Sky Sports' Rugby League expert Phil Clarke picks his top five tries from the weekend's Super League Super 8s and qualifiers.

This week, with the Super 8s hotting up, we see a champion-slaying score, some individual magic and a devastating kick return.

Here are Phil's picks but which score would you make your try of the week?

5. Kevin Penny (Warrington)

Warrington’s attack hadn’t been great in this game - and yet we saw a pass which almost saved the Wolves’ season. Stefan Ratchford threw the ball almost 20 metres into the arms of his winger, to set up a try to level the scores at 16-16. Under pressure, it was possibly the best pass of the week. Sadly, it may not have mattered after Liam Finn’s brilliant drop goal.

4. Tom Lineham (Hull FC)

There are lots of ‘workmen’ in Super League, but very few ‘craftsmen’ - and it was the vision and skill of one of these to spot the space for Lineham and throw a wonderful cut-out pass, which importantly allowed Hull to score the first try of the second half and bring the score back to 18-10. Jordan Abdull deserves great credit for sparking the comeback and helping Hull to win.

3. Jermaine McGillvary (Huddersfield)

Sometimes the best thing about Rugby League is the sheer power and pace at which it is played. This try demonstrates that perfectly - and reminds every player who plays against the Giants that McGillvary can be devastating on kick returns. You should be given a bravery medal when you attempt to tackle Huddersfield’s top try scorer; he runs with real intent.

2. Jamie Shaul (Hull FC)

Any try that puts you ahead at the home of the champions is special, but even more so when it looks like this. The telepathy between scrum half and full back is visible - and the skill and timing are perfect.

1. Rangi Chase (Salford)

This looks like a try you might see in a schoolboy match, when the best player seems to be able to score when he wants to. He beats 5 men in a solo demonstration of individual brilliance - and from a standing start. Wonderful, and my winner this week.
