Cronulla prop Andrew Fifita, controversially dropped by Australia for the 2016 Four Nations Series, has been promoted to the Kangaroos starting line-up for Friday's ANZAC Test.

Fifita, brother of Wakefield front rower David, was left out of the Kangaroos squad for the trip to England after his public show of support for one-punch killer Kieran Loveridge and initially ignored for the clash with the Kiwis.

However, he will replace Wests Tigers prop Aaron Woods, who withdrew on Sunday following a hamstring injury suffered on Saturday. Canberra forward Shannon Boyd will be the new starting prop, with Fifita on the bench.

Simon Mannering, Kieran Foran and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck named in New Zealand squad for ANZAC Test.

"Andrew has shown to all since last year's Four Nations tournament that he is ready to play for the Kangaroos again," said Australia coach Mal Meninga.

"The game made a stand regarding behaviour at the time and Andrew paid the price for that, missing the Four Nations tour. We've always said once the matter was dealt with he would be eligible for the Kangaroos again.

"Our game has seen some wonderful redemptive stories throughout its history and I can only think this will be another one."
