Kear picks up Papua New Guinea centre from Featherstone

Wakefield Wildcats have confirmed the signing of Papua New Guinea World Cup centre Jessie Joe Parker. The 24-year-old Parker, who is in line to play for the Kumuls in the forthcoming Four Nations Series, has signed a two-year contract with the Wildcats. Parker spent most of this season at Championship club Featherstone, who snapped him up after he played in all three of PNG's matches at the 2008 World Cup, including their battling 32-22 defeat by England in Townsville. Parker will now get the chance to step up a level and play in Super League next season after being brought in by John Kear. "Jessie Joe has been outstanding for Featherstone and we believe that he will be a big asset for us in the Engage Super League next year," said Kear.
