Former Salford wing pens four-year deal

Huddersfield have completed building their squad for next season after signing wing David Hodgson on a four-year contract. The 26-year-old, named in Great Britain's train-on squad for the autumn series with New Zealand, joins ex-Wigan and Salford team-mate Luke Robinson at the Galpharm. Hodgson, who has also played for Halifax and Wigan, is the fourth high profile recruit for Giants following the capture of New Zealand Test centre Paul Whatuira and NZ Warriors hooker George Gatis. The newcomers replace the outgoing quartet of Brad Drew, Paul Reilly, Chris Nero and Matt Gardner, while the future of the out-of-contract Robbie Paul is still clouded in mystery.

Good reputation

"There's no doubt I've made the right choice," Hodgson said. "Huddersfield are on the rise. They've signed a lot of good players and will be a major force in Super League in the years ahead. "Huddersfield now have a very good reputation in the competition so deciding to come here wasn't the toughest of choices. "To get a four-year deal made it even better, particularly as I'll be joining up with some of my old Wigan Academy mates in Stephen Wild, Martin Aspinwall, Kevin Brown and Stuart Jones. I can't wait to get started."
