Former Great Britain international Marchant given new role
Richard Pell has been named as the new coach of Castleford's reserves after the departure of Chris Chester to Hull KR.
Chester joined the Tigers' coaching staff last year after a neck injury brought an end to his playing career.
However, he moved back to his former club earlier this week to become their head of youth development.
In a shake-up of their coaching staff, Castleford also announced that Stephen Ellerker and Tony Marchant will be Pell's assistants.
Juniors
Pell is promoted from his role as the head of the club's junior academy. He led them to the Grand Final play-off series in last year's Academy Championship.
"It is an honour to be given this opportunity to coach at this level at the Tigers, my hometown club, and look forward to working with the calibre of people we have at this club," Pell said.
Marchant is also rewarded for his work within Castleford's academy. The former Great Britain international will be able to draw on his vast experience as a player.
Marchant said: "I am so excited by the challenge, the club's development of junior players has increased 10 fold since I was last involved. How do I feel to be back? I'm buzzing!"
