Technical FAQ's
Why can't I watch the video?
You'll need to have at least version 9.0.115.0 of Adobe Flash Player installed. Click here to download the latest version.
Please make sure you're using one of the following web browsers:
Internet Explorer 6 (or above). Click here to download the latest version.
Mozilla Firefox. Click here to download the latest version.
Safari. Click here to download the latest version.
I've done all of the above - why can't I watch the video?
If you have a Firewall (security hardware/software) or any other security software running on your PC it may affect your access to the site. You should take a look at the manufacturer's manual or contact them regarding the package/hardware configuration.
I have Broadband, why am I having problems streaming the 500k videos?
If you have an internet connection of greater than 500k, but experience a lot of re-buffering when viewing the 500k stream, the problem is most likely to be caused by network congestion over your ISP connection. You can test the current download bandwidth available to you using one of the following links:
Bandwidthplace Speed Test,
UK Broadband Speed Test (downloadable),
The results of these tests need to be around 400kbits/s in order to successfully stream the 256k videos, and please take into account fluctuations in local bandwidth. Please contact your Broadband provider directly to resolve these issues.
Why can I hear the event but not see it? Or why can I see it but not hear it?
Make sure that your computer has a sound card to play the audio and your audio levels are turned up. If you do have a sound card, the content that's being played probably uses compression software that isn't installed on your computer.
This issue may also occur if there isn't enough bandwidth to play both audio and video. You may receive sound but not video because audio requires less bandwidth.
I've placed a bet on one PC, can I watch the event on another?
Unfortunately for events that require you to place a bet, the video can only be viewed on the PC that the bet was placed. This is due to Digital Rights Management (DRM) which means that a video streaming feed is licensed to the specific PC.
If you attempt to watch the race on a different PC, you'll see the following message:
"This race has been accessed from another computer using your account details. The live stream for a race may only be played on one computer using any given account. Please see our FAQs section for more details or contact Customer Care".
