Robins raid reigning Super League champions for young centre

Hull KR have signed Michael Ratu on a two-year deal from Super League rivals Leeds. The centre has made five appearances for the Rhinos this season having started the year on loan at National League One club Halifax. Ratu, who was recently named Leeds' reserve player of the year, is the latest new recruit for Rovers, who host Wigan in the play-offs on Saturday. The 21-year-old will be joined at Craven Park by Bradford forward Matt Cook and utility player Josh Hodgson, who will make the short move from Hull FC. "There is a lot of positivity around the club at the minute with it being the best club in the city and I want to be a part of that, it's an exciting time for Rovers and I am looking forward to getting started," Ratu said. "I look forward to Justin (Morgan) developing my game over the next two years." Rovers boss Justin Morgan is delighted with his latest recruit as he looks to build for the long-term future. "It's great to attract players to the club with such talent and ability, Michael will be a welcomed addition to our side for next season's campaign," he added.
