Centre Matt Scott scored two tries as Edinburgh achieved a 29-8 Pro12 win over Treviso in Italy.
Outside centre Scott scored on both sides of the break to help his side to an important win over Italian side Treviso, who were forced to wait until the 70th minute for their own try through Simone Ragusi.
Scott's tries were matched by efforts from Mike Coman and midfield partner Andries Strauss.
It was a nervy opening period for both teams, with Coman's try in the 18th minute the opening score of the game. Two minutes later Scott was over for his first try, and with Sam Hidalgo-Clyne converting both, the scoreline of 14-0 looked far healthier for the visiting Scots.
Full-back Jayden Hayward got the home side underway with a penalty in the 34th minute but his effort was negated two minutes later by the boot of Hidalgo-Clyne as the sides went into the break at 17-3.
The hosts endeavoured to dent the defensive lines of Edinburgh in the opening exchanges of the second period, but they were unable to make any headway as the visitors held firm.
When inside centre Andries Strauss went over in the 59th minute it seemed all but over for the Italian outfit.
They did score through right wing Ragusi, which brought the score back to 22-8, but a bonus point try from Scott with six minutes remaining killed off any chance of a comeback from the home side.
The win was the first in three for the Scottish team, which helped them move to within one point of seventh-placed Scarlets in the standings.
