Magners League leaders Glasgow Warriors suffered a 30-7 upset as a clinical Cardiff Blues side sailed to victory at Firhill.
Ben Blair was superb with the boot for the Welsh side, kicking three out of three penalties and adding three conversions.
James Eddie, Richie Vernon and Richie Gray made lone attempts for the home side but were no match for the outstanding efforts of the Cardiff pack.
Blair's three penalties all came in the first half at 12, 16 and 34 minutes as Cardiff piled the pressure on the hosts and earned a deserved 9-0 lead by half time.
Blues went up a gear just two minutes after the restart as Gareth Cooper found a gap in the home defence to score the first try, with Blair adding the extras.
Struggle
Glasgow struggled to find a reply and Casey Laulala finally got his reward after threatening the hosts' midfield for the opening 55 minutes and went over as the Scottish side failed to retain their own scrum ball.
Blair converted again to extend Cardiff's lead, with a Glasgow comeback looking more unlikely by the second.
Tom James then dealt another blow to Warriors as he powered through four tackles on his way to the line and made a clear touchdown, leaving a humiliating number of home side players behind him.
The extras were again added by Blair and the hosts were then forced into desperate defence as Cardiff remained in the Glasgow red zone.
Max Evans managed the home's side first try of the night in the final minute but it was nothing more than a consolation effort as Colin Gregor converted to close out a dismal night for the Warriors.
