World Snooker Championship 2024 Crucible results as Kyren Wilson beats Jak Jones in the final

Kyren Wilson was drubbed 18-8 by Ronnie O'Sullivan in the 2020 final but, having raced into a 7-0 lead and up 15-10 entering the final session, the world No 12 held off a spirited challenge from Welsh qualifier Jak Jones to triumph 18-14 at the Crucible

Kyren Wilson held off Welsh qualifier Jak Jones to win the World Snooker Championship final 18-14.

A beaten finalist in 2020 - drubbed 18-8 by Ronnie O'Sullivan - Wilson romped into a 7-0 lead over Welsh qualifier Jones in the final and was 15-10 up going into Monday night's final session.

A late Jones rally would see him pull to within three frames, down 17-14, before an emotional Wilson would finally clinch victory to scoop the sport's biggest title and pocket £500,000.

Tournament favourite O'Sullivan was knocked out by 2015 winner Stuart Bingham in the quarter-finals as his hopes of a record eighth Crucible crown were dashed for another year.
