Nao Hibino to meet Donna Vekic in the final of the Tashkent Open

Japan's Nao Hibino will take on Donna Vekic of Croatia in the final of the Tashkent Open after both players won their semi-final matches in straight sets.

Hibino, ranked 119th in the world and without a WTA title to her name, claimed a 6-3 6-4 win against Serbian Bojana Jovanovski, who had knocked out top seed Annika Beck in the quarter-finals.

The 20-year-old will take on World No 137 Vekic in Saturday's final.

Vekic, 19, came out on top in a tightly contested first set against Evgeniya Rodina - 44 places above her in the rankings - but had no such trouble in the second to book her place in the final with a 7-5 6-1 victory.
