Andy Murray defeated Roger Federer to help the Singapore Slammers to a 27-24 win over the UAE Royals.

The British No 1 faced off against his long-time rival in the fifth and final set of a high-octane match-up in the International Premier Tennis League on Tuesday.

The set went Murray's way which was enough to overturn the overall scorecard in favour of his Slammers team, after both players had briefly met in the doubles.

Prior to their singles match, Murray replaced Nick Kyrgios in a doubles match which the Slammers won against Federer and Marin Cilic of the Royals.
