Martin Klizan staged another comeback as he recovered from a set down to beat fifth seed Gael Monfils 6-7 (1-7) 6-3 6-1 to win the Rotterdam Open on Sunday.
The Slovak saved eight match points against Roberto Bautista Agut and Nicolas Mahut in his run to the final and won six of the seven break points he faced against Monfils in their two-hour match.
The Frenchman was unable to convert six break points in the first set before ultimately prevailing in the tie-breaker.
But Monfils handed his opponent the first break of the match in the eighth game of the second set with a double fault and his play collapsed immediately after that.
Monfils won only six points as Klizan led the decider 5-0 with the 26-year-old sealing the match with a blistering forehand winner to capture his fourth career title.
