Johanna Konta confirmed for Nottingham's AEGON Open

Johanna Konta will return to Nottingham in June for this year's AEGON Open tournament.

The British No 1 is the latest big-name player confirmed for the grass-court event after Victoria Azarenka, Caroline Wozniacki, Madison Keys and Heather Watson.

Konta reached the quarter-finals in Nottingham last year and has since hit a new career high, a run to the Australian Open semi-finals helping her ranking reach 22.

She told the tournament website: "I'm really excited to be kicking off my grass-court season at Nottingham. I have played there many times and always enjoy the support I get from the fans.

"I had a good run at the tournament last year, which was the start of a great summer for me. It's a really strong player field this year, which is great for the tournament and I'm hoping for more success in Nottingham."
