Four Britons in world's top 100 for first time in 37 years

Great Britain has four male players ranked in the world's top 100 for the first time in 37 years.

Dan Evans became the fourth player on Monday when he won the ATP Santaizi Challenger event in Taipei.

He rose to 97 in the world, joining Andy Murray - the world No 2 - Aljaz Bedene (59) and Kyle Edmund (88).

It is the first time since 1979 that four British males have been ranked that high, while with three women in the WTA's top 100, Britain now has a total of seven top-100 singles player

Evans beat Konstantin Kravchuk of Russia 3-6 6-4 6-4 to continue his superb form in the last 12 months which has seen him climb from 772 in the rankings into the top 100.
