The Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) has confirmed no evidence of corruption was found after an investigation into a mixed doubles match at the Australian Open.

Spain's David Marrero and partner Lara Arruabarrena, and opponents Lukasz Kubot and Andrea Hlavackova were cleared of any wrongdoing over their first round match in Melbourne.

Kubot and Hlavackova eased to a 6-0 6-3 win hours after betting was suspended on the match, which attracted unusually large sums of money with bookmaker Pinnacle Sports.

Marrero and Arruabarrena denied any part in match-fixing, with Marrero saying he had been struggling with a knee injury.

"While details of the investigation will remain confidential, no evidence of corrupt activity has been identified and no further action will be taken against any player involved," said TIU spokesman Mark Harrison.

"TIU investigations not only root out corrupt practices, but also support players who are the subject of unproven speculation.
