Simona Halep produced a sensational display in front of her home fans to 'double bagel' Anastasia Sevastova 6-0 6-0 in the final of the Bucharest Open.

Halep needed more than two hours to beat Vania King in her semi-final on Saturday, but Sunday's final proved little more than a stroll in the park.

Sevastova came into the match with a 3-1 head-to-head advantage but her game completely fell apart under a powerful assault from the world No 5.

The seventh-seed was broken early in her first service game and that pattern continued throughout the entire match, which was done and dusted in 47 minutes.

Halep was winning for the second time in Bucharest, having also tasted success in 2014, and for the second time this year, adding to her victory in Madrid.

"I don't think I've ever won 6-0, 6-0 in a WTA event," said Halep.
