Novak Djokovic smashed a racket, ripped his shirt and had two arguments with the empire during his semi-final loss to Roberto Bautista Agut in Shanghai

Novak Djokovic was beaten in straight sets by Roberto Bautista Agut, and he was unable to prevent his frustration boiling over.

The world No 1 has been below his best so far in the second half of the season, admitting he has struggled with motivation issues as well as injury problems.

Defending the title he won in Shanghai last year he faced world No 19 having beaten him in all five previous meetings between the pair.

But as in his quarter-final against qualifier Mischa Zverev, Djokovic was below par and this time his opponent was able to maintain a thrilling level to record a victory.

And there were times that Djokovic struggled to keep his cool, ripping his shirt, almost smashing his racquet and event at the match's conclusion finding time to argue with the chair umpire.
