Top seed and 2014 champion Andy Murray will take on 2011 winner Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, live on Sky Sports 5 HD from 12.45pm on Sunday.

World No 2 Murray, who has 69 wins in 2016 and is on a 15-match winning streak, knows a tournament victory in Austria, coupled with a success at next week's Masters event in Paris would see him reach the peak of the rankings for the first time in his career, as long as incumbent Novak Djokovic does not reach the final in France.

The Wimbledon and Olympic champion is hoping to become the oldest first-time world No 1 since 30-year-old Australian John Newcombe in 1974.

Murray, who is 6-4 in finals this year, could set a personal best with a seventh tournament win in 2016 and is chasing his 42nd career title.

He has won 13 of his 15 matches against Tsonga, including a last-16 victory in their most recent meeting at Wimbledon in July, which was a five-set thriller.

"I'm obviously motivated to try and finish the season as strong as I can," Murray said. "The first couple of matches were really tricky. But now that I get the chance to play for the title I hopefully play my best match in the final."
