Andy Murray says he intends to keep his winning "momentum" going and finally make his mark at the Indian Wells Masters.
The British world No 1 claimed his first title of 2017 at the Dubai Tennis Championship last week and he now hopes to make a mark in the California desert.
Murray, 29, admits he has struggled at the tournament in previous years, with his best showing coming in 2009 as a runner-up to Rafael Nadal.
He warmed up for his second-round singles showdown with Canadian world No 129 Vasek Pospisil by progressing in the doubles alongside Dan Evans on Friday.
"Yeah, it is an important week for me," said Murray. "I have not played for pretty much five weeks since I lost in Australia. I had a tough loss in Melbourne.
"I wanted to come back strong, got through a really tough match in quarter-finals [against Philipp Kohlschreiber], and play some good stuff in the semis and in the final. Happy to have won in Dubai and will try to keep going the momentum in here.
"I think I am coming here in good form. I feel fresh. I had to take a decent break after Melbourne and hopefully I can play some good stuff.
"As a player, I struggled a bit here in the past. My results have been a little bit inconsistent so hopefully I can do it a little bit better this year."
