ATP looking to announce a number of potential reforms to men's tennis

First to four game sets and sudden death deuce points could be introduced

Sky Sports News HQ understands the ATP is looking to announce a number of potential reforms to men's tennis.

Last year, the ATP announced that the 2017 Next Gen Finals could be used as a potential proving ground for any reforms that the ATP Board vote in favour of.

It is understood they will discuss the ideas of first to four game sets, sudden death deuce points and a countdown clock during a player's service and also during warm-ups.

An ATP spokesman told SSN HQ: "The Next Gen ATP Finals has been positioned as an event that will test case innovation and rule changes from the outset. The ATP will announce the details in due course once we are in a position to do so."

The 2017 Next Gen Finals take place in Milan between November 7-11 and is a competition that pits the world's top eight U21 singles players against one another.
