Feliciano Lopez uses mobile phone over line call amid doubles controversy
Monday 22 May 2017 15:25, UK
Feliciano Lopez resorted to using his mobile phone to take photos over an argued line call during his doubles defeat at the Rome Masters.
The Spaniard, 35, was partnering his countryman Marc Lopez but lost to Rohan Bopanna and Pablo Cuevas 4-6 7-6 10-8.
Lopez, world No 35 in singles, who is a popular character on tour was adamant that a serve from Bopanna was long on match point in the match tiebreak on Thursday but failed to convince the umpire.
Marc Lopez returned the serve wide before voicing his frustration that a call was not forthcoming from Carlos Bernardes in the chair.
In a bizarre ending to the match Lopez decided to use his mobile phone to take pictures of the mark from different positions on the court.
With the victors signing autographs at the side of the court the remonstrations from the Spanish duo continued.
