Nicolas Mahut collected his third career title after a 7-6 (7-1) 6-1 win over David Goffin in the Topshelf Open final in 's-Hertogenbosch.
The 33-year-old Frenchman, who has previously won the Dutch tournament in 2013, claimed three break points while inflicting defeat on the second-seeded Goffin.
He had stubbornly defended his own serve, fending off three break points, and thrust his arms in the air after sealing victory over the Belgian with a volley.
In the women’s final, fifth seeded Camila Giorgi secured the first WTA title of her career after a 7-5 6-3 win over Swiss teenager Belinda Bencic.
The 23-year-old Italian had lost her three previous finals, but avoided further disappointment with a strong serving display.
Firing down eight aces, Giorgi lost only 19 points in 11 service games, and offered no break points to her 18-year-old opponent, had beaten former world No 1 Jelena Jankovic to reach the final.
