Great Britain's Johanna Konta is through to the second round of the Aegon International at Eastbourne after upsetting world No 34 Zarina Diyas in straight sets.
The wildcard and British No 2, ranked 105 places lower than her Kazakh opponent, won 6-3 6-2 to advance to next round on home soil.
Konta's fellow Briton Naomi Broady did not join her in the second round but did take American Sloane Stephens to three sets in a 3-6 6-3 7-6 (7-4) defeat.
Caroline Garcia had a straightforward outing against Roberta Vinci, taking just over an hour to seal a 6-2 6-2 win.
Alison Riske eased to a 6-0 6-3 success over Alize Cornet while Belinda Bencic bested Mona Barthel 6-5 7-6 (9-7).
