Serb teenager claims third title of the season

Ana Ivanovic clinched her third title of the season as she produced a fine fight-back to beat Daniela Hantuchova in the final of the Luxembourg Championships. The French Open finalist looked set for disappointment as her Slovakian opponent took the opening set and cruised to a 3-0 lead in the second. However, she refused to lie down and battled her way back into the match with some powerful groundstrokes and ultimately went on to record a 3-6 6-4 6-4 victory. Hantuchova started in positive fashion and took the upper hand with Ivanovic struggling to find her rhythm early on. However, having moved clear in the second set she was pegged back as her Serbian opponent reeled off five straight games to claw her way back into the contest. Having discovered something like her best form Ivanovic maintained her momentum in the deciding set to close out victory and add another title to those she won in Berlin and Los Angeles earlier in the year. "It was a very tough match today," the 19-year-old Serb stated. "Daniela started off really well, playing aggressively and going for her shots. I struggled to find my rhythm. "I told myself when I was 3-0 down in the second set that I needed to be more aggressive. It was a riskier approach but better that way, and it worked for me."
