Thursday 29 January 2015 13:50, UK
Britain’s Jordanne Whiley and partner Yui Kamiji have the chance to become back-to-back Australian Open champions after reaching Friday’s women’s wheelchair doubles final.
The No 1 seeds and defending champions beat Sharon Walraven and Katharina Kruger 6-4 6-3 on Thursday, setting up a final showdown against No 2 seeds Aniek van Koot and Jiske Griffieon.
Whiley became the first Brit in history to win a calendar Grand Slam after she and Kamiji won all four major championships in 2014.
Friday represents a chance for Whiley to settle a score with van Koot, who lost to the Dutchwoman in the last eight of the women’s wheelchair singles on Wednesday.
