Novak Djokovic: 'I am not obsessed with winning French Open'

World No 1 Novak Djokovic heads to the French Open insisting he is not "obsessed" with winning the one Grand Slam to elude him.

Djokovic has lost all three finals he has played in at Roland Garros - including the last two years.

He is going into his 12th attempt to win in Paris, and he would set a record for the most attempts taken to win the title if he finally prevails.

It would surpass the likes of Roger Federer and Andre Agassi, who both won the event at the 11th time of asking. 

Goran Ivanisevic holds the Open era Grand Slam record of needing 14 attempts before winning Wimbledon in 2001.

Despite never quite making it over the line, Djokovic is not "obsessed" with winning it.

"Of course I anticipate myself, as everybody else (does), to try to get my hands on this title this year," he said.

"Even if my career was done tomorrow, I have made some achievements in my life that I must be proud of.

"I don't try to approach things from a point of view of being obsessed with winning this tournament - or any other tournament for that matter."
