Andy Murray will return to the court on Tuesday after his French Open tie against Radek Stepanek was halted due to the weather.

The British No 1 fell two sets behind to the 37-year-old qualifier but has, so far, not succumbed to the threat of a remarkable first-round upset.

Trailing 3-6 3-6 6-0 4-2 when the match was stopped due to poor light, Murray will now have the chance to come back refreshed and will still be favoured to cross the finishing line first.

Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams are the other big names to get their campaigns underway on Tuesday.

Djokovic, last year's runners-up, is seeking to win the only Grand Slam to have eluded him so far and will play Yen-Hsun Lu, the world No 95.

Nadal, the greatest ever clay-court player and a nine-time winner of this tournament, faces Sam Groth.

And in the women's draw, Williams meets Magdalena Rybarikova.
