A day of poor weather at the French Open has seen the two scheduled men's quarter-finals, featuring Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, postponed until Wednesday.

Defending champion Djokovic was supposed to be facing Dominic Thiem and Nadal was up against Pablo Carreno, but both matches will now join the other two quarter-finals in a bumper day in Paris.

The other two quarter-finals see Andy Murray play Kei Nishikori and Stan Wawrinka face Marin Cilic.

Tuesday's matches were supposed to follow the women's quarter-finals on Philippe Chatrier and Suzanne Lenglen, but persistent rain in the French capital meant they kept getting pushed back until the tournament finally announced their postponement at just after 6pm local time (5pm BST).
