Chanelle Scheepers lifted her first WTA Tour title with a straight-sets win over Magdalena Rybarikova in the final of the Guangzhou International Women's Open. The South African, seeded seventh, broke her Slovakian opponent four times on her way to a 6-2 6-2 victory in one hour and 29 minutes. World number 73 Scheepers had never progressed beyond the quarter-finals in a WTA Tour tournament prior to this week.
