Caroline Wozniacki continued her strong run of form by beating Carla Suarez Navarro 6-3 6-3 to reach the semi-finals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
The Dane has won 21 of her last 25 matches and recently reached the final of the US Open, where she lost to Serena Williams.
Second seed Wozniacki dropped her own serve four times in a back-and-forth contest but broke her opponent on seven occasions.
"I thought I played a little better than I did yesterday, but at the same time it was a completely different player today, we had a lot of long rallies - it was definitely a tough ride out there," Wozniacki told the WTA Tour’s website.
"I was just trying to stay patient out there, because Carla is a player that really uses the angles very well and she runs a lot of balls down, so I knew it wasn't going to be easy and I'd have to wait for the right opportunity to go for my shots."
Wozniacki will next face young Spaniard Garbine Muguruza, who came from a set down to defeat Casey Dellacqua 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 6-3.
Top seed Angelique Kerber also made it through to the last four with a comfortable 6-3 6-0 victory against Dominika Cibulkova.
Kerber will play Ana Ivanovic in the semi-finals after the former world No 1 saw off Lucie Safarova 6-3 6-2, ending a five-match losing streak against the Czech player in the process.
