Croatian ace Ivo Karlovic powered his way to the quarter-finals of the ATP Erste Bank Open on Wednesday.
The sixth seed beat home favourite Jurgen Melzer 6-4 7-6 (7-1) to make the last-eight in Vienna, following his first round fight back victory over Argentina’s Federico Delbonis.
In first round action, fifth seed Lukas Rosol, of the Czech Republic, saw-off the challenge of Slovakia’s Lukas Lacko 6-2 6-4.
Germany’s Tobias Kamke was made to work hard to beat Italy’s Simone Bolelli 3-6 6-3 6-4.
