Indian Aces aim to extend lead at top of IPTL against UAE Royals
Monday 12 January 2015 10:28, UK
The Indian Aces will have the opportunity to register a second win in three days over the UAE Royals and extend their lead at the top of the IPTL when the tournament descends upon Singapore on Tuesday.
Although Andy Murray’s involvement is over (he won two sets and lost four), his Manila Mavericks team-mates will face the hosts, the Slammers, as three consecutive days of tennis in Singapore kicks off.
The Aces beat the Royals 28-20 in Manila on Sunday and currently sit atop the International Premier Tennis League with 12 points to the Royals’ 10.
The Slammers, bottom of the league with four points, will be hoping their home advantage coupled with trump cards Serena Williams and Andre Agassi can propel them above the Mavericks, who have seven points.
Teenage sensation Nick Krygios will also play his part for the Singapore side, teaming with Williams in the mixed doubles against Kirsten Flipkens and Daniel Nestor.
Tuesday’s action is guaranteed to feature world No 7 Tomas Berdych of the Slammers against world No 12 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of the Mavericks.
So tune into Sky Sports at 8am on Tuesday to see Indian Aces v UAE Royals and Singapore Slammers v Manila Mavericks.
